The train journey from Lisbon to Lagos is operated by Comboios Portugal (Portuguese Railways). There is no direct connection between the two cities. In Tunes, you must transfer from the high-speed Alpha Pendular, or the cheaper Intercity train, to a much slower regional train to Lagos.

Alfa Pendular is a fully air-conditioned 6-car electric train. These ultra-modern trains tilt into curves to reach 220 km/h. It features both first and second-class seats as well as a cafe bar. If you opt for the first class, you can order a meal during the reservation process. All trains guarantee complimentary WiFi and power sockets at all seats.

CP's Intercity trains are the second-rank express service, offering first- and second-class accommodation, a cafe bar, and free WiFi, with power sockets available in some first-class seats. 

Reservations are obligatory on all trains. When traveling with CP, children under 12 get a 50% discount on full-price fares, youths under 25 are eligible for a 25% discount, and seniors over 65 can enjoy a 50% discount. No value is available when booking Promo fares. 

You will start your journey at Lisbon Oriente. The station is at the end of Lisbon's red suburban line. A bus station behind Lisbon Oriente serves local lines and lines connecting to cities outside of Lisbon, such as Madrid. Most trains heading southward depart from Lisbon Oriente. You can take the suburban train to Satna Appoloina, the main train terminal in the city center. 

You will end your journey at Lagos train station. Bus line 1 can take you to the station from the city center, and a taxi will get you there in three minutes. It is also an easy 15-walk to get to the city center and the stunning cliffs Lagos is famous for. The station has a coffee shop, ticket counter, and toilets.

Lagos is a beach town famous for its stunning rock formations and beaches like Praia da Batata, Praia Dona Ana, Costa Vicentina National Park, Praia dos Estudantes and Praia do Camilo, to name a few.
