Amtrak, the largest passenger railroad service in the US, operates the train from Newark to Orlando. The two cities are connected by the Silver Service line, composed of two trains, Silver Meteor and Silver Star.

The Silver Service is a long-distance Amtrak service connecting New York and Miami and serving many smaller cities, one of them being Orlando. All trains have Viewliner sleeping cars, with the option of booking a smaller roomette or a more comfortable bedroom. Still, unlike the Silver Star, the Silver Meteor has a dining car, which also means that the sleeping cars get inclusive room service. 

So there are two options to pick from if you want to sleep on the train:

1. The Roomette is tiny at first glance, but it is very well-used. Different innovative storage options will surprise you at every step. Two comfortable recliner seats turn into a bed, and a second bunk bed that you pull from the ceiling makes enough space for two people to sleep and have a great view. The older Viewliner cars have a toilet and a sink in the room (one of the surprises under the steps to the upper bunk), which can be tricky if there are two people. The newer cars have toilets and bathrooms in the hallway.
2. The Bedroom is twice as big, with a big, comfy queen bed and a bathroom in the room (separated by a door). It has all the amenities of a Roomette, but is more spacious and pricier. 

If you opt for the sleeping car, keep in mind that you must book the entire unit alone or with someone. Also, the coach has comfortable reclining seats, perfect for getting some shut-eye, so give it a chance.

Like other cities on the Northeast Corridor, Newark also prides itself on a station built in an Art Deco style. Newark Penn Station, the namesake of New York and Baltimore stations, will mark your journey's end. It is a gateway to New York City and other areas of the Garden State. The station provides intercity rail service, commuter rail service via New Jersey Transit and Amtrak, light rail service, and bus service. Newark, being one of the busiest towns in the state, offers something for everyone, a visit to the Newark Museum for art buffs or a stroll down the Passaic River for nature lovers.

Orlando has two Amtrak stations:

1. The central Orlando Amtrak station, 1400 Sligh Blvd, is a beautiful historical building from the 1920s that offers the convenient service of checked baggage and free overnight parking. Unfortunately, it could be better connected, especially if you are going to Disney World; in that case, the Kissimmee station would be a better option. The city center, Universal studio, and Disney World are approximately 10 miles away, but the only way to reach them is by taxi (Uber, Lyft)
2. Silver service and the local Sun Rail serve the Kissimmee station. There is no parking available, but several car rental companies are at the station. It is located in the historic city center and close to Disney World, but you will still need an Uber or a Lyft to get there. 

Orlando is one giant theme park. Besides the previously mentioned Disney World, it is also home to Seaworld, Legoland, Universal Studios, and site-specific Gatorworld, making Orlando a dream destination for families and everybody else.
